Formatt Hitech Firecrest Ultra Joel Tjintjelaar S Edition 100mm Long Exposure
Formatt Hitech Firecrest Ultra Joel Tjintjelaar S Edition 100mm Long Exposure | Let moving scenes blur into shape
Moving water can become a smooth sweep, while clouds take on a sense of motion across the frame. The Formatt Hitech Firecrest Ultra Joel Tjintjelaar S Edition 100mm Long Exposure is an ND filter for photographers who want to make those longer exposures in daylight. By reducing the light reaching the camera, an ND filter gives you room to use a slower shutter speed instead of letting a bright scene dictate a quick exposure. It suits landscape and architectural work where you want movement to register over time, rather than freeze in a single instant. The 100mm format makes this a system filter: plan your setup around a holder made for 100mm filters. For a more considered workflow, compose and focus first, then fit the filter and adjust exposure for the scene. The effect depends on the light and the shutter time you choose.
Specialist Note
The Formatt Hitech Firecrest Ultra Joel Tjintjelaar S Edition 100mm Long Exposure is made for giving motion time to show in a still photograph. Its ND-filter role is the practical point: reducing incoming light lets you lengthen the shutter time, useful for softening moving water or drawing cloud movement over a building. The 100mm format is the other detail to plan around; use a holder designed for 100mm filters, and compose before fitting it so you can settle your framing first. I’d recommend it to landscape and architecture photographers who want deliberate motion blur. Longer exposures do call for a steady camera, and the right shutter time will vary with the scene.
