Freewell 55mm Base Ring Cap For Real Locking VND

Freewell 55mm Base Ring Cap For Real Locking VND | Cover your VND base ring

Without a dedicated cap, the base ring is left without a matching cover when you put it away. This Freewell 55mm Base Ring Cap is made for the base ring used with the Real Locking VND system. It’s a small accessory for photographers who use that setup and want a named cap for the ring between uses. Its job is specific: cover the base ring, rather than act as a variable ND filter itself. That makes it most useful when you’re packing the VND away or keeping the ring as part of your filter setup. The 55mm designation is part of this product’s name and identifies the ring size it’s intended for. If you use the Freewell Real Locking VND, this is the dedicated cap to consider; it isn’t a general-purpose replacement for every filter cap.

Where it fits in your kit

Think of this as the closing piece for the base ring, not an extra filter or a way to change exposure. Keeping the cap with the ring gives that specific part of your Real Locking VND setup a cover when it’s set aside. The product name ties it to the 55mm base ring; don’t treat the size alone as proof that it suits an unrelated 55mm filter setup.
