Godox AK D1060 Light Shaping Plate For MS60/RS60

Godox AK D1060 Light Shaping Plate For MS60/RS60 | Shape your light with a dedicated plate

Without a separate light-shaping piece, you’re working with the setup already in front of you. The Godox AK D1060 is a light shaping plate for the MS60/RS60, intended for photographers and video makers who want a specific accessory for shaping light from those models. Its appeal is its clear, focused role: it’s a plate, rather than a broad lighting kit or a general-purpose modifier. That makes it relevant when you’re building a setup around the MS60/RS60 and want to consider a shaping accessory by name. The product title doesn’t tell us the exact look it creates, so I wouldn’t buy it expecting a particular beam pattern or effect. Instead, treat it as a purpose-specific part to consider alongside the look you’re trying to achieve and the light you plan to use.

A focused part of your lighting setup

Light-shaping choices are easiest to make when you start with the image, not the accessory. Think about what you want the light to do in your scene, then decide whether a dedicated plate belongs in that plan. That keeps the purchase tied to a real job rather than adding another piece simply because it’s available.

For this model, the useful distinction is right in its name: it’s a light shaping plate, with the MS60/RS60 named as its intended pairing. If those are the lights in your setup, you can assess the D1060 as a specific option for that system. If your priority is a particular lighting effect, make that effect your first question; the product name alone doesn’t describe the result. I’d keep that expectation practical and choose it for its stated role, rather than assuming it behaves like another kind of modifier.

In short, this is a targeted accessory for a defined lighting setup, not a general recommendation for every shoot. That specificity is helpful when you know which light you’re shopping for and are comparing parts by purpose.
