Godox AK D36 Diffusion Plate For MS60/RS60

Godox AK D36 Diffusion Plate For MS60/RS60 | Soften direct light

Direct light can look too hard for a close subject, and changing the whole lighting setup just to soften it can be a nuisance. The Godox AK D36 Diffusion Plate is a diffuser for the Godox MS60 and RS60. It gives photographers and video makers working with either of those lights a simple way to introduce diffusion at the light source. Its purpose is straightforward: spread the light, so it appears softer on the subject than direct, undiffused light. That makes it worth considering for portraits, product shots or other scenes where a gentler look is wanted. The useful point here is the specific pairing in the name: this is a plate intended for MS60/RS60 use, rather than a general-purpose lighting accessory. If you already work with one of those lights and want to soften its output, this is the kind of small, focused accessory that addresses that particular need.

When diffusion helps

Diffusion changes the character of light by spreading it. In practice, the result you see depends on the subject, the surrounding scene and how the light is positioned; a diffuser doesn’t produce one fixed look in every setup. That flexibility is useful when direct light feels too pronounced, but it’s sensible to judge the result in the scene you’re actually photographing or filming. The AK D36 is aimed at a narrow, clear use: diffusion with the MS60 or RS60. It isn’t a general lighting guide or a replacement for choosing where the light falls. Think of it as a way to alter the quality of light from those named models, while leaving the rest of your setup decisions in your hands. For a compact lighting kit built around an MS60 or RS60, that specific role is the appeal; there’s no need to expect it to do more than diffuse.
