GREEN.L 82mm HMC ND Fader Variable
GREEN.L 82mm HMC ND Fader Variable | Adjust light without changing filters
The defining choice is variable neutral-density control: instead of changing filters to alter how much light reaches the camera, you can adjust the filter’s effect while it stays in place. That makes this GREEN.L filter a practical option when light levels shift during a take, or when you want to fine-tune exposure without changing your chosen aperture. It suits photographers and video makers who want more control over shutter speed in bright conditions. For moving water, you can add filtration and lengthen the exposure to soften its movement; for video, you can keep your preferred shutter setting as daylight changes. It’s a focused tool rather than an all-purpose filter, and its value is in adjusting exposure with fewer interruptions. The HMC designation is part of the product name; I’d choose it for the variable ND function and the filter size your lens requires.
Specialist Note
You can fine-tune the filtration as you work, so a change in brightness doesn’t automatically mean stopping to swap filters. The 82mm size is the key fit detail: match it to the filter size marked for your lens, and you’ll know whether it attaches directly. Variable ND is useful when filming outdoors; set the shutter speed you want, then adjust the filter to manage the light. It can also help with a bright landscape when you want a slower shutter for moving water. One practical limit: 82mm is a specific size, so it won’t directly suit every lens. For the right lens, this is a straightforward way to keep exposure adjustments close at hand.
