GREEN.L CPL 86mm
GREEN.L CPL 86mm | Control reflections and enrich skies
The defining choice is the 86mm diameter: this version is made for lenses with a matching filter-thread size. GREEN.L CPL 86mm is a circular polarizing filter for controlling reflections and changing how skies and foliage render. Rotate the filter to vary the effect as you compose. On water or windows, that can reduce reflected glare and reveal more of what’s behind it; outdoors, it can deepen blue skies and bring out cloud contrast, depending on the light and your shooting direction. It suits landscape, travel and architectural photographers who have time to check the result in the frame. Polarization depends on your angle to the light, so the effect can vary across a wide scene. For shiny surfaces, turn the filter gradually and stop when the glare is reduced but the scene still looks natural. That small adjustment can make a noticeable difference to how much detail comes through.
Specialist Note
Photographers framing reflective ponds, storefront glass and open skies will find clear uses for this filter. The 86mm size means you’ll need a lens with a matching filter thread; it’s worth treating that diameter as part of your lens choice. CPL means circular polarizer, and here the practical benefit is control: rotate it while watching the reflection in your frame. For a pond, ease the glare back until you can see more beneath the surface. For a landscape, adjust while looking at the sky, then check the whole composition. The effect changes with your position relative to the light, so it can be less even across a very wide view.
