GREEN.L HMCW ND2-2000 62mm Fader
GREEN.L HMCW ND2-2000 62mm Fader | Adjust light without swapping filters
Rather than choosing one fixed level of neutral density, the GREEN.L HMCW ND2-2000 62mm Fader gives you a variable ND range in a single filter. It’s for photographers and filmmakers who want to control how much light reaches the camera while keeping the filter on the lens. That makes it especially useful in bright conditions, when you want more room to choose a longer exposure or a wider aperture. You can adjust the density to suit the scene instead of carrying several fixed ND filters and changing between them. The 62mm size is the key detail to match with the filter thread on your lens. If you work with changing light, or want to experiment with motion blur in daylight, a fader can make exposure adjustments more direct. It’s a focused tool for managing light, rather than a filter for changing colour or adding effects.
Using a variable ND filter
For a smoother look in moving water, adjust the filter to reduce the light, then lengthen the shutter exposure while checking the image on your camera. In bright conditions, reducing the light can also give you more freedom to choose a wider aperture. Make adjustments gradually and review the exposure as you go; the right amount depends on the scene and the camera settings you want to use.
Specialist Note
New fader users sometimes expect the filter to choose the exposure for them; it doesn’t. The benefit here is that you can adjust the ND effect while composing, then judge the exposure on your camera. The ND2-2000 range gives you a broad span of light control, which is handy when you want to soften flowing water or keep a wider aperture in strong daylight. Turn the filter gradually and check the result rather than jumping straight to a heavy setting. The 62mm size is useful when it matches your lens’s filter thread, so check that marking before choosing it. It’s a practical light-control tool, but your preferred shutter speed and aperture still need to come from you.
