GREEN.L LH-DC90 Lens Hood | Help keep stray light out of your shot

Keeping unwanted light from reaching the front of a lens can help avoid flare and preserve the look of a scene. The GREEN.L LH-DC90 Lens Hood is a lens hood for photographers who want to manage stray light while framing a photograph, whether they’re working outdoors in bright conditions or near a strong light source. Its key identifying detail is the LH-DC90 model designation. A hood can also provide a little physical shielding around the front of a lens during everyday use, though it isn’t a substitute for careful handling. The name identifies this as a GREEN.L accessory, but doesn’t identify the lens or camera it fits, so I wouldn’t want to guess at compatibility. If you already know the LH-DC90 is the right hood for your setup, its purpose is straightforward: help control light coming from outside the frame and keep your attention on the picture.

Specialist Note

Stray light can be distracting when you’re trying to hold detail and contrast in a scene; that’s the problem a lens hood is meant to address. The GREEN.L LH-DC90 is clearly identified by its model name, so I’d use that exact designation when matching it to the lens you have in mind rather than relying on appearance alone. For a bright outdoor scene, keep the light source just outside your framing and use the hood to help limit light arriving from the side. It can also be handy around nearby light sources indoors. This is a specific accessory, so the key is making sure the LH-DC90 designation matches your intended setup.
