Hahnemühle DFA Photo Rag 188GSM 91.4cmx12m

Hahnemühle DFA Photo Rag 188GSM 91.4cmx12m | A defined weight for long prints

The defining choice is the 188 gsm weight: it gives you a clear figure to compare when selecting photo paper for a print job. Hahnemühle’s DFA Photo Rag is a specialist paper for photographers and printmakers who want to choose a particular paper by its stated weight and working format, rather than by a vague description. Its 91.4 cm width and 12 m length make the dimensions central to the decision, especially when you’re planning prints that need a wide sheet of paper or several prints from one length. That’s the useful part to focus on before you buy: the intended print size and how much paper your project calls for. This product is best suited to someone who already knows those requirements and wants a named Photo Rag paper in a clearly specified format. The title gives you a useful starting point, not a promise about how a print will look.

Choosing the format for your work

Start with the finished image, not the paper in isolation. Consider the width your print needs, then think about how many prints you expect to make from the available length. That simple check helps you judge whether this format suits the job you have in mind. If you’re comparing paper options, keep the intended output in view: a choice that works for one print size or project may not be the right one for another. It’s also sensible to plan around the actual dimensions you use in your workflow, rather than relying on a familiar paper name alone. Photo Rag is the product name here; the concrete points to compare are the stated weight and format. For a specialist print, those details make this a straightforward product to assess before you commit to a paper choice.
