Hahnemühle DFA Testpack Matt Textured A3+

Hahnemühle DFA Testpack Matt Textured A3+ | Judge the paper surface in person

Hahnemühle DFA Testpack Matt Textured A3+ is a test pack in A3+ format with a matt, textured paper surface. It’s for photographers and image makers who want to judge a paper finish in person before settling on a look for a print. The point is to consider the paper and image together: a surface can change how a photograph feels, especially when it’s viewed close up. This pack suits people already considering a matt textured finish, rather than shoppers set on a glossy or smooth look. Use it to see how the surface works with your own images and presentation plans. A screen can suggest tone and composition, but it can’t show the physical character of paper. When the surface is part of the decision, a test pack gives you something tangible to assess before choosing a direction.

How to assess the paper

Start with an image you know well, so you can focus on the way the surface affects your impression of it. Look at the print from a normal viewing distance, then move closer and pay attention to the texture. Consider whether it suits the subject and the way you want the finished image to feel. A portrait, a landscape and a graphic image can each make you notice different things, so use a photograph that represents the work you actually print. There’s no single right answer here; paper choice is personal. If you’re still deciding, note what you like and what distracts you. That gives you a clearer basis for choosing a finish for future prints.
