Hama Filter PL Circulair 77mm 72577
Hama Filter PL Circulair 77mm 72577 | Tame glare and deepen skies
To cut reflections from water or glass and bring more depth to a blue sky, a polarizing filter gives you control over how light reaches your lens. The Hama Filter PL Circulair 77mm 72577 is a circular polarizing filter in a 77mm size, suited to photographers whose lens takes a 77mm filter. Rotate the filter while looking through the viewfinder or at the screen, and the effect changes: reflections can fade, and skies can look richer when the sun is at a useful angle. That makes it particularly handy for landscapes, travel scenes and photographs through windows. The result depends on the direction of the light, so the effect won’t be equally strong in every scene. A polarizer also reduces the light reaching the camera, so bear that in mind if you’re working in low light.
Specialist Note
Reflections can cover the detail you wanted to photograph, especially on a lake or behind a shop window. This Hama’s circular polarizing design lets you adjust that effect by turning the filter as you compose. Its 77mm size is the key fitting detail: it’s for a lens with a matching filter thread, not a universal fit. For water, turn it gradually and watch the surface until the glare eases; for a landscape, adjust it while framing the sky and stop where the blue looks natural. I’d recommend it to someone who often photographs outdoors or through glass. Just allow for the light it absorbs, particularly when the scene is already dim.
