Hama Filter Profi Line UV Nano 55 mm
Hama Filter Profi Line UV Nano 55 mm | UV filter for a 55 mm thread
Without a filter, there’s no separate UV filter in front of the lens. The Hama Filter Profi Line UV Nano 55 mm is a UV filter in a 55 mm size, for photographers who want that type of filter on a lens with a matching filter thread. A UV filter is intended to filter ultraviolet light; it’s a straightforward option when that’s the effect you want, rather than a filter for changing colour balance or reducing light for a longer exposure. The product name also identifies it as part of Hama’s Profi Line and includes “Nano”, but those names alone don’t tell us how the filter is constructed or coated. The key practical detail is the 55 mm diameter: match it to the marking on the lens before choosing it. If your lens takes a different filter size, this one won’t be the right fit.
Specialist Note
“Is the 55 mm Hama UV Nano the right size for my lens?” It is if the lens is marked 55 mm for its filter thread; that number is the detail I’d check first. The UV designation tells you the kind of filter it is, so consider it when you specifically want UV filtration rather than polarising or neutral-density effects. For a daylight landscape or an outdoor city scene, fit it to a 55 mm lens when UV filtering is your aim; there’s no special camera setting to change for that. I’d keep expectations focused on that purpose: this isn’t a filter for darkening a scene or controlling reflections.
