Hama Filter Ultimate UV 58 mm
Hama Filter Ultimate UV 58 mm | Simple UV filtration for a matching lens
The defining choice here is the 58 mm filter size: it gives you a UV filter for a lens with a matching filter thread, without adding another control to manage while shooting. The Hama Filter Ultimate UV is made for photographers who want ultraviolet filtration in a straightforward, fixed-size filter. Its role is specific: it filters UV light rather than adding a colour or special-effect look. That makes it a considered option for daylight photography when UV filtration is what you want, and for a setup where you’d rather leave the lens’s filter thread occupied than keep fitting and removing a filter. The key practical check is the number: your lens needs a 58 mm filter thread. If it does, this is a simple way to add a UV filter to that lens; if it doesn’t, this size won’t match.
Specialist Note
Once it’s fitted to a matching lens, you can shoot without adjusting a filter control or changing your usual camera settings. The 58 mm size makes the match easy to judge: look for that same number on the lens before you set off. I’d use this Hama for daylight scenes where you specifically want UV filtration, such as open landscapes, and leave it in place for a session rather than treating it as an effect filter to swap in and out. It’s a focused tool, not a filter for changing colour or contrast. If UV filtration isn’t what you’re after, this won’t add those other looks.
