Hama Network Cable CAT-5E 1 GBIT/s F/UTP Afgeschermd 3.00m

Hama Network Cable CAT-5E 1 GBIT/s F/UTP Shielded 3.00m | A measured link for your network

The defining choice here is the 3.00-metre length: it gives you a set reach for a network connection without making you work with a longer cable than you need. This Hama cable is for anyone who wants to connect network equipment using a CAT-5E cable rated at 1 Gbit/s. Its F/UTP shielding is part of the design, while the grey finish keeps it visually understated around a desk or other setup. The honest point to bear in mind is that a cable’s length matters in practice: allow for the route it needs to take, rather than measuring only the straight-line distance between the two ends. If that route fits within three metres, this is a straightforward cable to consider. It gives you a clearly stated category, speed rating and length, without asking you to choose among several versions.

Plan the route first

Before settling on a cable length, consider where the cable will run and how much slack you want at either end. The stated 3.00 metres is the cable length to work with, so a route that bends around furniture or follows an edge will use more of it than a direct measurement suggests. A little planning can help you avoid choosing a length that leaves the cable pulled tight. The grey colour may also be a practical detail when you’re deciding where it will sit in the room. This cable’s listed speed is 1 Gbit/s; that figure describes the cable’s stated rating, not a promise about the speed of an entire network. For a simple purchase decision, match the length to your route and use the listed CAT-5E and F/UTP details to identify this particular cable.
