Hama USB-C-Cable USB-C-Plug - Micro-USB-ST USB 3.2 GEN1 5 GBIT/s 0.75 M

Hama USB-C-Cable USB-C-Plug - Micro-USB-ST USB 3.2 GEN1 5 GBIT/s 0.75 M | A short USB-C to Micro-USB connection

It’s frustrating when two devices have different USB connections and the cable you have won’t join them. This Hama cable has a USB-C plug at one end and a Micro-USB connection at the other, giving you a direct link between those two connector types. It’s intended for setups where the connection on one side is USB-C and the other is Micro-USB; the cable itself is 0.75 m long, so it suits a relatively close-together arrangement rather than a long run across a room. Its stated standard is USB 3.2 Gen 1, with a transfer rate of up to 5 Gbit/s. That makes the speed rating an important part of the choice if you’re comparing cables for a data connection. The finish is black. In short, this is a compact cable with a specific job: bridging USB-C and Micro-USB connections.

Match the cable to the connection

Before choosing a cable, it helps to look at the actual ports on the two devices you want to connect. This one is for a USB-C connection at one end and a Micro-USB connection at the other, rather than two matching ends. The connector shape is the key detail here; the Hama name and the USB standard are secondary if the cable doesn’t match the ports you need to join. Its 0.75 m length is suited to a short-distance setup, such as devices positioned near one another. That can keep a connection from needing extra slack, though it won’t suit every layout. The 5 Gbit/s figure gives you a concrete speed rating to compare when selecting a cable. Choose it for the combination of connectors and the short reach, rather than for a longer connection or a different port arrangement.
