Hawke Sunshade Honeycomb Objective 32mm | Helps control stray light

In bright conditions, light coming from the side can be distracting when you’re looking through an optical instrument. The Hawke Sunshade Honeycomb Objective 32mm is a lens-hood accessory designed for an objective measuring 32mm. Its honeycomb front helps limit unwanted light entering from off-axis, which can make viewing more comfortable when the sun or another bright source sits just outside your field of view. It’s aimed at Hawke users who want a simple way to shade a 32mm objective, particularly for outdoor observation in changeable light. The benefit is focused and practical: this isn’t an optical upgrade or a way to change magnification, but an accessory for managing stray light at the front of the objective. If bright side light is the irritation you’re trying to address, the honeycomb design is the detail that makes this sunshade relevant.

Specialist Note

The honeycomb face gives this sunshade its distinctive job: it helps screen light arriving from the sides while leaving the objective’s view open. For a 32mm objective, that makes sense if you often observe outdoors and find bright light just beyond your subject uncomfortable. I’d consider it for watching wildlife or scanning a sunlit landscape; position yourself so the bright source is off to one side, and the shade can help keep that stray light from intruding. It’s a specific accessory rather than a change to the optic itself, so it won’t alter magnification or make a dim scene brighter. If side light is your main concern, this is a neat, purpose-led option.
