Ilford GP Fine Art Smooth Pearl 152.4cm X 15m

Ilford GP Fine Art Smooth Pearl 152.4cm X 15m | Wide-format photo paper

For a large print, ordinary sheet paper can leave you working around fixed page sizes. Ilford GP Fine Art Smooth Pearl is photo paper in a wide format: 152.4cm across and 15m long. Its name also identifies a smooth pearl finish, making it a specific option to consider when choosing paper for fine-art prints. The generous width gives you room to plan images beyond standard sheet dimensions, while the long format lets you consider multiple prints along the same length. It’s aimed at photographers and printmakers who are selecting paper by its surface and working dimensions, rather than looking for a pack of ready-cut sheets. One practical point: the paper’s width is substantial, so it makes most sense when your planned output genuinely needs that much room. If those dimensions suit the job, this gives you a clearly defined paper format to work from.

Planning around the format

Start with the finished size of the image you want to print, then consider how many prints you intend to make. The 152.4cm width is the key measurement when deciding whether this paper suits the layout; the 15m length helps you plan how much paper the job may call for. Those numbers are useful when estimating a print run, but they don’t say anything on their own about the paper’s behaviour with a particular printer or ink. Keep your choice grounded in the requirements of your own printing setup and the surface you want for the finished image.

“Smooth Pearl” is the surface description in the product name. If that finish is already part of your paper selection, the title gives you a straightforward way to identify this option. If you’re comparing papers, weigh the surface choice alongside the size of your intended prints; a wide format is only an advantage when it fits the work you have in mind. This is a specialist-sized paper, so having a particular print or series planned is a sensible starting point.
