Ilford OmniJet Gloss Photo Realistic Paper 235gsm 106.7cm | Wide-format glossy photo paper

Ilford OmniJet Gloss Photo Realistic Paper is 106.7 cm wide, with a 235 gsm weight, and is intended for photo-realistic printing with a glossy finish. It suits people choosing paper for prints where a reflective surface is part of the look, and where the image needs to be produced at a substantial width. The name gives you two useful points to start with: a gloss finish and a photo-realistic purpose. That makes it easier to decide if this is the kind of paper you want before comparing the finer details of a print workflow. Its width will also matter when you plan the finished image, so consider the space available for display and how you’ll handle a print at that scale. There’s no need to overcomplicate the choice: if you’re after glossy photo-style output in this width, this is the paper to assess.

Choosing a paper for your print

Start with the image and the way you want it to look on display. A glossy surface is a deliberate visual choice, so consider whether it suits the subject and the viewing conditions where the print will hang or be presented. The photo-realistic description makes this paper relevant when you’re aiming for a photographic appearance, rather than choosing paper solely for a matte or textured look. Think through the finished dimensions before you print, too: a wide sheet can call for a different plan for trimming, mounting or finding a place to show the result. Those choices depend on your project, not just the paper. If you’re comparing options, keep the finish and intended image style at the centre of the decision, then check that the paper’s stated format works with your printing setup.
