Ilford Simplicity Film Multi Fix

Ilford Simplicity Film Multi Fix | Five measured batches for black-and-white film

Ilford Simplicity Film Multi Fix comes as five single-use sachets of liquid concentrate, each measured for a 600 ml developing tank at a 1:5 dilution. It’s a straightforward way for home darkroom users to keep film fixer ready in sensible, repeatable amounts, without measuring concentrate from a larger bottle. Each sachet contains enough fixer for two rolls of 35mm film or one roll of 120 film, so you can match a batch to the tank load you’re processing. The fixer is suitable for all black-and-white films and uses Ilford Rapid Fixer. That makes the pack useful for regular film developing as well as occasional sessions where a fresh, correctly portioned batch is more convenient than keeping a larger quantity on hand. Five sachets mean five separate batches; the honest limitation is that this is fixer only, not a complete developing kit.

What it does

• Five single-use sachets: Each packet contains a measured portion of liquid fixer concentrate. Use one sachet for a batch, then keep the remaining sachets for later sessions.
• For black-and-white film: The fixer is suitable for all black-and-white film types. It handles the fixing stage of a standard film-processing workflow.
• Two 35mm rolls per sachet: One portion is intended for two rolls of 35mm (135) film in a 600 ml tank made for two rolls. That gives you a clear batch size for a typical two-roll session.
• One 120 roll per sachet: A sachet also covers one roll of 120 film in the stated 600 ml tank setup. You can prepare a single-roll batch without opening a larger bottle of concentrate.
• 1:5 dilution: The concentrate is specified for a 1:5 dilution, with the finished batch brought to 600 ml. This matches the stated tank capacity for the film quantities above.
• Ilford Rapid Fixer formula: Simplicity Film Fixer contains Ilford Rapid Fixer. It must not be used with fixer hardeners, so keep the processing chemistry compatible with that instruction.
