JJC F DA6CPL Action Camera Filter
JJC F DA6CPL Action Camera Filter | Manage reflections in your footage
Reducing reflected glare can help make water, glass and other shiny surfaces easier to see in an action-camera image. The JJC F DA6CPL Action Camera Filter is a CPL filter, intended for action-camera use. It’s most relevant when reflections distract from the subject you’re filming, or when you want more control over how those reflections appear in the frame. A polarising effect depends on the angle of the light and camera, so it won’t look the same in every direction or scene. That makes this a considered filter for particular shots, rather than an effect to expect uniformly throughout a recording. For a walk past shop windows, a view across water, or outdoor footage with a bright sky, its purpose is to give you another way to manage reflected light while filming. The product name identifies the filter; choose it for the CPL function, not as a general-purpose image-quality upgrade.
Specialist Note
This filter’s CPL designation is useful when reflections are part of the problem, not just when you want to add an accessory to an action camera. I’d consider it for filming through a window or looking down at water: adjust your camera’s direction and watch the preview, because the amount of reflection affected changes with the angle to the light. For a sky, try framing with the camera roughly 90 degrees from the sun to see whether the polarising effect suits the scene. It’s aimed specifically at action-camera use, but a CPL won’t remove every reflection, and its effect can vary as you move.
