That can be useful for keeping a video shutter setting in daylight, or for making a longer exposure of moving water. The Super Slim profile keeps the filter’s front-end shape less bulky, while the 58mm size identifies the filter size you need to match to your lens. It’s a focused tool for exposure control, rather than a general-purpose protective filter.

Specialist Note

At noon beside a bright canal, the water catches the sun and a slower shutter can turn its ripples into a softer flow. This filter gives you a way to reduce the light while setting that shutter speed yourself: use the stronger end, ND2000, when the scene is very bright, then ease back if you need less reduction. For daylight video, start nearer ND8 and adjust through the range to help retain your chosen shutter speed and aperture. The Super Slim profile keeps the filter less bulky at the front of the lens. Do bear in mind that 58mm is a specific size; it suits lenses that take 58mm filters.
