Kaiser UV Filter Double-Sided Coating Ø 40.5 mm
Kaiser UV Filter Double-Sided Coating Ø 40.5 mm | UV filtering for a matching lens
UV haze can take the crispness out of distant views, and it’s frustrating when you want a straightforward filter rather than another piece of kit with a complicated job. This Kaiser UV filter is made for a lens with a 40.5 mm filter diameter and is intended to filter ultraviolet light. Its double-sided coating means the coating is applied to both sides of the filter. That makes it a simple, specific option for photographers who want UV filtering on a lens of this size, whether they’re photographing open landscapes or keeping a camera ready for everyday scenes. The appeal here is clarity of purpose: a UV filter, a stated diameter and coating on both faces. It’s best suited to someone who knows their lens takes a 40.5 mm filter and wants this type of filter, without choosing by a camera body or lens system name.
Choosing the diameter
The 40.5 mm measurement is the key detail when matching this filter to a lens. Filter diameter is not the same as focal length, so use the measurement marked for the lens’s filter thread rather than a number from its zoom range. If that marking is 40.5 mm, this is the size to consider. A lens with a different filter diameter needs a filter in that corresponding size; this one isn’t a universal fit. Keeping the size check simple helps avoid ordering a filter that can’t attach to the lens.
Specialist Note
For a 40.5 mm lens I keep ready for daytime walks, this Kaiser is a straightforward way to add UV filtering without choosing a different filter type. Match the 40.5 mm diameter to the lens’s filter thread, then use it when you want UV filtering for open views or everyday outdoor scenes. I also like that the title specifies double-sided coating: both faces of the filter are coated, rather than just one. It suits photographers who want exactly that combination of size and purpose. One point to keep in mind: the diameter is specific, so this isn’t a one-filter solution for lenses with different thread sizes.
