Kase International Magnetic Back Cap 86mm
Kase International Magnetic Back Cap 86mm | Keep the rear of your filter covered
Your filter’s rear stays covered between uses, giving you one less exposed surface to worry about when packing or changing gear. The Kase International Magnetic Back Cap 86mm is a filter accessory for photographers who want a straightforward way to cover the back of an 86mm filter when it’s off the camera. Its magnetic design is the key: it attaches magnetically, rather than relying on a screw-on cap. That makes it a simple part of a filter-handling routine—remove the filter, cover its rear, and put it away. It’s especially relevant if you already work with 86mm filters and want a dedicated cap for storage between shoots. There’s no extra photographic effect to expect in your images; the benefit is practical, helping keep the filter covered while it’s not in use. Just remember that the magnetic connection needs a matching interface.
Specialist Note
The Kase International Magnetic Back Cap 86mm is best at covering the back of a compatible filter between uses. I’d consider it for anyone who regularly takes an 86mm filter off the lens and wants to put it away without leaving its rear surface uncovered. The 86mm size makes it specific to that filter format, so it’s worth treating it as a dedicated accessory rather than a universal cap. Its magnetic attachment is useful when you want to fit and remove the cover as part of packing up or switching filters. One practical limit: it only suits a filter with a matching magnetic interface. For that setup, it’s a focused little accessory, not a substitute for a front cap or filter case.
