Kenko Celeste C-PL 72mm
Kenko Celeste C-PL 72mm | Control reflections and deepen skies
Less glare on water and glass, and richer-looking skies: that’s the kind of change a polarizing filter can bring to your photographs. The Kenko Celeste C-PL is a circular polarizing filter for photographers who want more control over reflections and contrast in bright outdoor scenes. It can be especially useful when photographing water, windows or foliage, where reflected light can wash out colour and detail. In a landscape, a polarizer can also deepen the appearance of a blue sky, depending on the light and your angle to the sun. The 72mm size is for a lens with a matching 72mm filter thread, so it’s worth checking the marking on your lens before choosing. This filter is most appealing when you want to manage light at the point of capture rather than rely on editing later. The effect varies with the scene, so subtle adjustments are often the most natural-looking.
Specialist Note
The Kenko Celeste C-PL 72mm is best at reducing distracting reflections in outdoor photographs. The C-PL designation identifies it as a circular polarizing filter, useful when glare on water or glass is taking attention away from your subject. Its 72mm diameter is the key fit detail: choose it for a lens whose filter thread is also 72mm. I’d consider it for landscape work, or when photographing a shop window, and adjust the polarizing effect to suit the scene rather than aiming for the darkest possible sky. The effect depends on the light and shooting angle, so it won’t transform every view equally. It’s a focused tool for scenes where reflections are the problem.
