Kingston 256GB DataTraveler Kyson Metal USB3.2GEN

Kingston 256GB DataTraveler Kyson Metal USB3.2GEN | Carry files on a metal USB drive

Without a USB drive, moving a handful of files often means sending them through another device or service. The Kingston DataTraveler Kyson gives you a physical way to carry files, with 256GB of capacity in a metal USB drive. It suits anyone who wants a separate place for documents, photos or other files they need to take from one place to another. It can also be handy for keeping a working copy close by, rather than having to find a particular online account or message. The product name identifies it as USB 3.2 Gen and metal; it doesn’t tell us a transfer speed, so I wouldn’t choose it on a promised number of seconds. One practical point: this is USB storage, not an SD card, despite the category placement. If you’re shopping for a card to put in a camera, this isn’t that product.

A simple way to keep files close

A flash drive works best when you have a clear job in mind for it. You might set it aside for a current project, carry a selection of files between locations, or keep copies of things you don’t want mixed in with everything else. With 256GB, there’s room to store a substantial collection, though how many files fit depends on their size. It’s worth deciding what you want on the drive before filling it; a little organisation makes it easier to find the right document later. The metal in the product name gives this model a distinct material identity, but it’s still sensible to handle any storage device with care. For camera use, think of it as a way to carry files after they’ve been transferred, rather than as a memory card that goes in the camera. That distinction is the main thing to know when choosing this Kingston.
