Kiwi CS-30 Hot Shoe Extension Bar 300mm

Kiwi CS-30 Hot Shoe Extension Bar 300mm | Position an accessory farther out

To place a hot-shoe accessory farther from the camera, the Kiwi CS-30 Hot Shoe Extension Bar gives you a 300mm extension. It suits photographers who need more space between the camera and an accessory mounted on its hot shoe, such as when the position on top of the camera isn’t where they want it. The point is practical positioning: the bar lets you move that mounting position away from the camera, which can help when you want a different arrangement around your setup. Its stated reach is 300mm, so you can judge that distance against the space you have available. This is a straightforward piece of kit rather than a complicated studio tool. Its value comes down to whether that extra reach solves a real positioning problem in your work.

Choosing the right reach

Think about where you want the hot-shoe-mounted item to sit before choosing an extension bar. A 300mm reach gives you a specific distance to work with; it won’t suit every arrangement, and a longer bar isn’t automatically better. Consider the space around the camera and the position you’re trying to achieve. If the accessory needs to sit farther away from the camera’s hot shoe, this bar is made for that kind of adjustment. If you simply need an item mounted at the camera’s hot shoe, an extension bar may not be necessary. That’s the honest distinction: this product is for adding distance, not for changing what the mounted accessory does. The name tells you what matters most here—Kiwi’s CS-30 is a hot shoe extension bar, and its stated length is 300mm.
