Kondor Blue KB-LEMO9P-35-RA 10" EXT LEMO 9 Pin On 3.5mm Right-Angled Timecode

Kondor Blue KB-LEMO9P-35-RA 10" EXT LEMO 9 Pin On 3.5mm Right-Angled Timecode | A short link for a specific timecode connection

Timecode cabling can become a fiddly part of a setup when the connection needs to be short and the two ends use different connectors. This Kondor Blue cable is a 10-inch extension with a LEMO 9-pin connection at one end and a right-angled 3.5mm timecode connection at the other. It suits a rig that calls for that exact connector pairing and a compact cable run. The right-angled plug can be helpful when a straight plug would get in the way of nearby equipment; the short length also keeps the connection close to where it’s needed. There’s no need to work around a longer cable when a brief link is what the setup calls for. The key is matching the required connections at both ends. This is a specific timecode cable, rather than a general-purpose lead, so the connector arrangement is the detail to get right.

Choosing the right connection

When you’re sorting out a timecode connection, start with the sockets and cable requirements at each end of the signal path. Matching the connector types is more useful than choosing by cable length alone. Also consider how the cable will sit in your setup: a right-angled plug changes the direction the cable leaves the connection, which may help where space is tight. A 10-inch cable is intended for a short reach, so it’s worth planning the route before you settle on where connected equipment will sit. Keeping those practical details in mind helps you judge whether this particular pairing and length suit your arrangement, without assuming that every device uses the same connection.
