Laowa Proteus 2X Anamorphic 100mm T2 - Blue (Meters) (Lao-100p-B-PL)

Laowa Proteus 2X Anamorphic 100mm T2 Lens - Blue (Meters) (LAO-100P-B-PL)

The Laowa Proteus 2X Anamorphic 100mm T2 lens - Blue (Meters) (LAO-100P-B-PL) incorporates both anamorphic and spherical groups offering modern image sharpness combined with vintage anamorphic features such as elliptical bokeh and unique flare characteristics.

Both anamorphic and spherical groups are fixed, with focus achieved through the addition of variable spherical front glass. This particular optical design is also applied in other models such as Vantage Hawks, Cooke Anamorphic, and Atlas Orion. With a 2X compression ratio, you get 2.66:1 on a 4:3 sensor and 2.4:1 on a 6:5 sensor upon decompression. This allows image cropping to a 2.39:1 ratio, providing an ultra-widescreen cinematic look highly sought after in the film industry.

• No distortion due to a constant compression ratio maintained at all focus distances.
• The T2 bright aperture provides low-light shooting capabilities and a shallow depth of field with waterfall-like blurring transition.
• Sharp and high contrast images even at maximum aperture make Laowa Proteus series suitable for film production.
• In-focus distance down to 99 cm allows for sharp close shots with an elliptical bokeh generated in out-of-focus areas, characteristic of anamorphic lenses.
• Flare colors options are indicated on every lens body beneath the focal length.
