LedGo Barndoor For Altatube 180C (w/ Eggcrate Grid)

LedGo Barndoor For Altatube 180C (w/ Eggcrate Grid) | Shape and contain your light

The defining design choice is the pairing of a barndoor and an eggcrate grid: it gives you two ways to manage light from an Altatube 180C. This accessory suits photographers and video makers who want more control over how the light falls on a subject or set. A barndoor is for shaping the beam; the grid helps keep its spread contained. That makes the combination most relevant when you’re trying to keep light off nearby areas rather than simply adding another light source. The product name is refreshingly direct: it’s made for the Altatube 180C and comes with an eggcrate grid. If you’re planning a lighting setup around that tube, this is a focused light-control accessory, not a general-purpose softbox. Its appeal is the chance to refine the light you already have, with the barndoor and grid serving distinct roles.

What it’s for

Use the barndoor to shape where the Altatube’s light goes, then use the eggcrate grid to limit how widely it spreads. In a small room, a controlled beam can help keep light from washing across a background or reaching parts of a scene you want darker. For a portrait or a product setup, that can be useful when you’re building a deliberate lighting arrangement and want the source to affect a chosen area. The grid is part of this model, so the defining combination is already reflected in its name. It’s a fairly specialised accessory: the value is in directing and containing light, rather than changing the character of the Altatube itself. If that’s the kind of control you need, the purpose is clear; if you’re looking for a general diffuser or a softbox, this isn’t described as either.
