Leofoto Summit 100mm Leveling Base + Platform Long w/ Hook
Leofoto Summit 100mm Leveling Base + Platform Long w/ Hook | Level your setup without shifting tripod legs
The distinguishing feature of this Leofoto tripod accessory is its combination of a 100mm leveling base and a long platform with a hook. It’s for tripod users who want to level their camera support at the top of the tripod, rather than repeatedly adjusting the legs to correct a small tilt. That can be especially handy when framing architecture or landscapes, where a crooked horizon or vertical lines can be distracting. The long platform and hook make this a specific setup, rather than just a leveling base on its own. It’s best suited to photographers who value a level starting point and want the extra platform and hook as part of their tripod arrangement. Think of it as a way to make fine adjustments once the tripod is positioned, not as a replacement for setting the legs sensibly on the ground.
A more direct route to a level frame
For a careful composition, small corrections matter. Set the tripod legs for the ground first, then use a leveling base to bring the camera support level before you settle on the framing. This is useful for architectural compositions and for keeping a horizon straight in landscape work. The long platform and hook are part of the product’s design; choose it when those details suit the way you arrange your tripod, rather than expecting a plain leveling base.
Specialist Note
First-time owners often try to fix every tilt by changing the tripod legs, even after the tripod is already in position. A leveling base gives you a separate point for that final correction, which is why I’d consider this Leofoto for careful architecture or landscape framing. Its 100mm base is the defining size to keep in mind when planning your setup, while the long platform gives the arrangement its extended support surface. The hook also gives you a place to hang a bag when you want added weight below the tripod. It won’t save time on very uneven ground; set the legs first, then make your finer adjustment here.
