Marumi Circ Pola Filter 30.5 mm
Marumi Circ Pola Filter 30.5 mm | Tame reflections and deepen skies
Bright sky, water and glass can all throw reflections into a photograph. A circular polarizing filter lets you reduce some of that glare and change how strongly a blue sky appears, giving you more control over the look of a scene before you take the shot. The Marumi Circ Pola Filter is for photographers who want to shape reflections in landscapes, travel scenes or pictures made through windows, rather than relying on editing afterwards. Its effect depends on the direction of the light and your angle to the subject, so it’s worth turning the filter while watching the image and choosing the result you prefer. It can be especially satisfying with water or foliage, where reflected light can distract from detail. The effect isn’t automatic: some reflections will remain, and the change in the sky varies with your shooting direction. This filter’s 30.5 mm size is intended for a lens with a matching filter thread.
Specialist Note
The turning ring is the part you’ll work with: rotate it while looking at the scene, and the balance between glare and visible detail changes in front of you. Because this is a circular polarizer, you can use that adjustment to reduce reflections on water or a window, or to deepen a blue sky when the light is at a helpful angle. The 30.5 mm diameter matters when choosing a filter for a lens: it needs a matching 30.5 mm filter thread. For a landscape, make small turns and stop when the sky looks natural. It won’t erase every reflection, but it gives you direct control over how much remains.
