Matin Lens Cap w/ Elastiek 55mm M-6280-2
Matin Lens Cap w/ Elastiek 55mm M-6280-2 | Keep the cap close at hand
The elastic is the detail that makes this Matin lens cap handy for photographers who regularly take the cap off and want it close by while they work. It’s a straightforward front cover for a lens, with a 55mm size and an elastic element. That makes it a practical option for everyday camera storage and for shoots where you’re moving between capped and ready-to-shoot setups. The key is getting the size right: this cap is for a lens marked 55mm, so it’s worth matching that marking before choosing it. There’s no need for extra controls or setup; the job is simply to cover the lens when it isn’t in use. If you want a replacement cap in this size, or prefer an elastic-equipped cap for regular handling, the M-6280-2 keeps things simple.

Choosing the size
Look for the diameter marking on the front of your lens and match it to 55mm. This is the relevant measurement for choosing this cap; the camera body name alone won’t tell you the lens’s front size. Once matched, use the cap whenever the lens is off the camera or the camera is being put away, to keep the front covered between uses.
Specialist Note
55mm is the size to match, so I’d start by reading the marking on the lens itself; that’s the simple way to tell if this cap is the right fit. The elastic is useful when you’re taking the cover off repeatedly: it helps keep the cap close instead of leaving it loose while you shoot. I’d consider it for someone who wants a replacement for a 55mm lens or regularly swaps between storage and shooting. For a quick street photo, for example, remove the cap as you bring the camera up, then replace it when you’re done. It’s a basic cover, not a substitute for a protective case during transport.
