Nanlux Dyno 1200C LED Soft Panel

Nanlux Dyno 1200C LED Soft Panel | A softer source for studio and set

For lighting a person or set with softer-looking illumination, a soft panel gives you a different starting point from a small, hard source. The Nanlux Dyno 1200C LED Soft Panel is a studio and set light in a panel format, suited to crews who want to shape light for interviews, portraits or other controlled scenes. Its name tells you the key points: it’s an LED soft panel, and Dyno 1200C is the model. A soft source can give shadows gentler edges, which often makes faces and surfaces feel less stark on camera. The result still depends on how you place and shape the light; the panel alone won’t decide the look. That’s a useful thing to keep in mind when planning a setup. If you’re choosing a light for a particular job, think first about the character of light you want, then how it will fit the space and the rest of your lighting.

Working with a soft panel

Softness is relative to the subject: a source appears larger when it fills more of the subject’s view, and moving a light closer can change how it wraps around a face. You can use that relationship to guide the look, rather than expecting a panel to create the same result in every room. A closer, broader source may give a gentler transition from highlight to shadow; a more distant or more narrowly presented source can feel more defined. Watch the background, too. A change in light position can affect both the subject and what sits behind them, so small adjustments are worth checking on camera. This is the kind of practical control that makes a panel format interesting for deliberate studio and set lighting.
