Nedis CAT6 S/FTP-Network Cable RJ45M-RJ45M 5.0m WH

Nedis CAT6 S/FTP-Network Cable RJ45M-RJ45M 5.0m WH | A five-metre link for network setups

When a router, computer or other network equipment needs a wired connection across a room, a five-metre cable gives you some room to plan the route. This Nedis cable is a CAT6 S/FTP network cable, with an RJ45 male connector at each end. It’s white, so it can blend more quietly with a pale wall or desk setup. The useful detail here is the combination of a specific length and matching connectors at both ends: you can plan for one cable run between two suitable network sockets, rather than joining shorter cables together. It suits anyone arranging a wired network connection where the equipment isn’t right next to each other. The five-metre length is the main thing to consider; measure the path the cable will take, not just the gap between the devices.

Plan the cable run

Before you settle on the route, trace it around furniture and along the edges where you expect the cable to sit. A direct measurement across open floor may not account for the path you actually want to use. Think about where each end needs to reach, too: both connectors need to arrive at their respective network sockets without pulling the cable taut. If your planned route is shorter, you can decide how to manage any spare length; if it’s longer, this particular cable won’t cover the full distance. Keeping the route in mind first makes it easier to choose where the connected equipment should sit and avoids buying a length based only on a rough estimate.
