Nedis Coaxial Cable 90dB IEC (Coax) M-IEC (Coax) F 1.5m WH

Nedis Coaxial Cable 90dB IEC (Coax) M-IEC (Coax) F 1.5m WH | A straightforward coax connection

Without a coax lead with the right ends, connecting a socket to equipment can turn into a workaround. This Nedis cable has a male IEC coax connector at one end and a female IEC coax connector at the other, with 1.5 metres of cable between them. It suits a setup that needs those connector types and a short reach, for example when you need to continue an existing coax connection rather than replace the whole run. The product is listed as 90 dB, so that designation is there when matching a cable to an existing setup. It’s a specific, simple piece of kit: the connector genders and cable length are the details that matter most. If the sockets at either end call for different connectors, this cable won’t resolve that mismatch.

Getting the connection right

Connector direction is worth paying attention to. The male IEC coax end goes into a matching female socket; the female end accepts a matching male IEC coax plug. That makes this cable suitable for linking two points when their connections are the right way round, rather than for joining any two coax sockets indiscriminately.

For placement, consider the route the cable needs to take, not just the distance between the two connection points. A cable may need to go around furniture or follow an edge, and that uses more length than a straight measurement. At 1.5 metres, this is a short lead for a nearby connection. The white finish is a practical detail if you’d prefer the cable to blend in with a light-coloured room or setup. There’s no need to make this more complicated than it is: match the IEC coax ends, allow for the cable path, and the basic job is clear.
