Specialist Note

On a Micro Four Thirds body, this lens frames like a 20–50mm lens on full frame, so it moves from genuinely wide to a natural-looking everyday view. The maximum f/1.7 aperture is especially helpful for an astro foreground: open it up and try around 1/30 sec at the wide end, then adjust exposure to suit the sky. I’d recommend it to travellers and architecture or landscape photographers who want that range in one lens. Its limit is clear: 25mm isn’t a telephoto view.
