PolarPro VND Diffusion Filter 2/5 Stops Mist Edition 82mm
PolarPro VND Diffusion Filter 2/5 Stops Mist Edition 82mm | Variable ND with mist diffusion
Without a variable ND filter, changing the amount of light reaching your camera usually means swapping between filters or changing your exposure settings. The PolarPro VND Diffusion Filter combines variable neutral-density control from 2 to 5 stops with Mist diffusion in one 82mm filter. It’s for photographers and filmmakers who want to manage exposure while adding a softer, mist-style rendering to the image. The variable ND range lets you reduce incoming light by different amounts, useful when you want to keep a chosen aperture or use a slower shutter in brighter conditions. Mist diffusion brings a distinct look to the image, making this a creative filter as well as an exposure tool. It’s particularly suited to outdoor portraits, scenes with bright light sources, and moving subjects where shutter speed matters. If you’d rather keep a clean, crisp rendering, the diffusion effect may not suit your intended look.
Specialist Note
Can this PolarPro filter control exposure and add a mist effect at the same time? Yes: it brings a 2–5-stop variable ND range together with Mist diffusion. I’d suggest it to photographers and filmmakers who want to hold a wider aperture outdoors, or slow the shutter for a more flowing look in moving water. Choose the lower or higher ND strength to suit the available light, then set your exposure around that. The 82mm size means it’s for lenses with an 82mm filter thread, so that’s the detail to match before choosing it. One honest point: the Mist look is part of the image, so it won’t suit every style.
