Radius 10cm Nimbus Windshield (19/22) Black Fur
Radius 10cm Nimbus Windshield (19/22) Black Fur | Helps tame wind in outdoor recordings
The black fur covering gives the Radius Nimbus its defining role: helping reduce wind noise around a microphone during outdoor recording. It suits location sound recordists, interviewers and anyone capturing spoken audio where moving air can distract from the voice. Use it when recording dialogue outside, or in another breezy setting, to put a wind barrier around the microphone while keeping the mic aimed at the speaker. It’s a focused accessory for wind, not a way to make a microphone immune to strong gusts; choosing a sheltered position still matters. The 10cm and 19/22 identifiers make this a specifically sized Nimbus model, rather than a generic furry cover. If you’re comparing microphone accessories, those markings are the details to use when narrowing down the right version for your setup. For indoor voice recording in still air, this kind of covering may be more than you need.
Specialist Note
The Radius 10cm Nimbus Windshield is best at putting a furry wind barrier around a microphone for outdoor speech. The black fur is the working detail: keep it between the mic and the breeze, then aim the mic towards the speaker for an interview or location dialogue. The 10cm model designation and 19/22 marking are useful when identifying the specific size of Nimbus you need; use those labels when matching the accessory to your microphone setup. I’d still look for shelter in strong wind, since a windshield can help with gusts but can’t remove every trace of them. For a calm indoor recording, I’d leave this one off.
