Radius Shotgun Mic Foam Windshield 15cm Std Hole
Radius Shotgun Mic Foam Windshield 15cm Std Hole | Help reduce wind noise
For spoken audio recorded outdoors, a foam windshield helps reduce wind hitting a shotgun microphone, so dialogue is less distracted by moving air. The Radius Shotgun Mic Foam Windshield 15cm Std Hole is a 15cm foam cover with a standard-hole opening. It suits videographers, interviewers and small crews who want a straightforward wind barrier for location interviews, pieces to camera or ambient speech. Foam is a simple option for light air movement, but it won’t replace more substantial wind protection in blustery conditions. The stated length and hole type are the details to match to your microphone: shotgun mics don’t all share the same dimensions. If they suit your setup, this cover offers a direct way to reduce wind interference without adding a complicated rig.
Specialist Note
The foam body makes this a simple cover to fit over a shotgun mic, and its 15cm length gives you a clear dimension to compare with the mic. For an outdoor interview or a presenter-to-camera clip, I’d use it to soften light air movement around the microphone and keep wind from distracting from the spoken words. The standard-hole opening matters too: compare the opening with the mic body rather than choosing on length alone. My honest caveat is that foam isn’t a solution for strong gusts. I’d consider it for modest wind and uncomplicated setups, not exposed, blustery recording.
