Radius Zoom H5 Mini Windcover
Radius Zoom H5 Mini Windcover | Help reduce wind noise in outdoor recordings
A breeze can add a low rush to an outdoor interview or make quiet ambient sounds harder to hear. The Radius Zoom H5 Mini Windcover is a compact accessory for Zoom H5 recordings, intended to help reduce wind reaching the microphone. It suits H5 owners recording spoken pieces, short interviews or outdoor atmosphere who want to address wind at the microphone without changing their recording setup. The purpose is specific: this is a windcover, not a way to alter the H5’s recording settings. Use it when recording in exposed places, such as beside a street or in an open park, where moving air can intrude on the sound. The “Mini” name points to a small-format cover, making it a compact addition to an H5 recording kit. It’s a focused accessory for one familiar recording nuisance.
Specialist Note
The Mini’s compact shape makes this a small accessory to carry with a Zoom H5, and its job is to help soften wind reaching the microphone. I’d use it for an outdoor voice note or a short interview: put the cover in place before recording, then position the H5 toward the speaker. It can also help when capturing outdoor ambience, where wind may overpower quieter details. This is a straightforward option for H5 owners who record beyond sheltered rooms. In strong, changeable gusts, though, a windcover is only part of the answer; choosing a less exposed recording spot still matters.
