Rodenstock PLC Digital Pro 62mm

Rodenstock PLC Digital 62mm | Manage reflections and deepen skies

Without a polarizing filter, you usually have to accept reflections as they appear or try to reduce their impact later. The Rodenstock PLC Digital 62mm is a polarizing filter for photographers who want more control while making the picture. It’s especially useful when reflections on water, glass or glossy surfaces are distracting, and when a bright sky looks pale in a landscape. Adjusting the filter’s orientation changes how much of that reflected light reaches the camera, so you can choose a natural-looking result rather than removing every reflection. The effect depends on the scene and your position relative to the light; it won’t have the same impact in every direction. This is a considered addition for landscape and travel photography, or for everyday scenes where glare is taking attention away from the subject.

Use it when you want to make a reflection less prominent in the frame, or to give a blue sky more depth in a landscape. The change is made before the picture is taken, which gives you a direct view of the effect as you compose. Keep the result restrained if you want water or glass to retain some of their character; reflections can be part of the scene, too.
