Rycote Baseball Black (19/20mm) X 3 Pack
Rycote Baseball Black (19/20mm) X 3 Pack | A compact cover for compatible microphones
On a location recording, a small cover over the microphone can be useful when you want a simple way to manage wind noise. The Rycote Baseball is a microphone windshield with a rounded, baseball-style shape, made for microphones measuring 19 or 20mm. This pack gives you three in black, handy if you need covers for several compatible microphones or want spares ready to go. Its appeal is straightforward: a recognisable, compact form and a stated size range, without needing to build a larger setup around the mic. It suits sound recordists and video makers working with microphones in this size class, especially for outdoor dialogue and other situations where moving air can affect a recording. The fit is the key detail here, so it’s best treated as a specific-size accessory rather than a universal microphone cover.
Specialist Note
The rounded baseball profile gives this cover a neat shape around the microphone head, so it’s a straightforward option when you want a small windshield rather than a larger covering. I’d point it towards someone recording dialogue outdoors with a 19 or 20mm microphone: the stated sizing helps you choose for that mic diameter, while the three-piece pack gives you more than one cover to keep on hand. The black finish keeps the look discreet on camera. One thing to keep in mind is that the fit is specific; it isn’t a catch-all accessory for microphones of other sizes. For a matching mic, though, the compact format is the point.
