Rycote Special 130 Mini Windjammer
Rycote Special 130 Mini Windjammer | Help manage wind noise on microphone recordings
Wind across a microphone can distract from speech or ambience, especially when you’re recording outdoors. The Rycote Special 130 Mini Windjammer is a microphone accessory for situations where wind is part of the recording problem. Its name identifies it as a mini windjammer, making it a product to consider when you want a wind-focused accessory in a compact format. It may suit people recording outdoor interviews, spoken pieces or environmental sound who want to address wind at the microphone rather than rely on editing alone. The exact microphone it suits matters, so use the full product name when matching it to your setup. Think of it as a targeted accessory for recording in moving air, not a promise that every gust or recording environment will be handled the same way.
Specialist Note
“Will this help when I’m recording outside?” Yes, the Rycote Special 130 Mini Windjammer is a wind-focused microphone accessory, so outdoor speech or ambience is the sort of use to consider. The word “Mini” gives you a useful clue about its intended scale; I’d look at it for a more compact microphone setup rather than assume it’s a general fit for every mic. “130” is part of the exact model name, which is handy when you’re matching this particular version to your equipment. For an interview, keep the microphone out of direct gusts where you can, then use the windjammer as part of that setup. It’s a specific accessory, not a substitute for choosing the right microphone match.
