Saramonic M3-WS Furry Windscreen For SR-M3
Saramonic M3-WS Furry Windscreen For SR-M3 | Helps tame wind noise outdoors
For outdoor speech recordings, a furry windscreen helps keep gusts from overwhelming the sound, so a voice can remain clearer in the finished recording. The Saramonic M3-WS Furry Windscreen For SR-M3 is a windscreen made for the SR-M3 microphone. Its furry covering is intended to soften the effect of wind reaching the microphone, making it useful for interviews, spoken pieces and other location recordings where air movement can add unwanted noise. It’s a small, purpose-specific accessory rather than a way to change how the microphone sounds in calm conditions. Fit it to the SR-M3 when you’re recording outside and wind is a concern; it gives you a simple step to take before you start recording. In stronger or shifting gusts, placement still matters, so keep the microphone out of the direct wind where you can.
Specialist Note
Wind hitting a microphone can make outdoor dialogue distracting, and that’s the problem this little cover is meant to address. The furry exterior is the useful detail: it helps break up moving air before it reaches the SR-M3, which can make speech recordings less troubled by wind. Because this is specifically for the SR-M3, it’s a straightforward accessory to consider for street interviews or a spoken recording in an exposed location. I’d use it alongside careful positioning: turn the microphone away from the strongest gusts rather than relying on the cover alone. It won’t make severe wind disappear, but for breezy conditions it’s a sensible addition to an SR-M3 setup.
