Saramonic Vmic WS S Windjammer Stereo
Saramonic Vmic WS S Windjammer Stereo | Help keep wind out of stereo recordings
For outdoor stereo recording, a windjammer helps make the sound of a place easier to hear without wind noise taking over. The Saramonic Vmic WS S Windjammer Stereo is a microphone accessory named for stereo use and wind protection. It suits people recording interviews, location sound or outdoor ambience who want a dedicated wind barrier rather than relying on an improvised cover. Stereo recording uses two channels, so wind can be distracting across the whole recording; a windjammer is intended to reduce that problem at the microphone. It won’t change the sound into stereo or improve the microphone’s recording quality by itself. Its job is narrower: help protect a stereo recording from wind. If you’re planning a recording outdoors, it’s a practical accessory to consider when wind could interfere with the sound you’re trying to capture.
Specialist Note
The Saramonic Vmic WS S Windjammer Stereo gives wind protection a dedicated job instead of leaving you to improvise a cover around the microphone. The word “stereo” matters here: stereo recording has two channels, so wind across the microphone can distract from the left-right sound you want to keep. I’d consider it for an outdoor interview or for recording ambient sound; use the windjammer on the microphone before you start, so wind is less likely to dominate the take. It’s for wind, not traffic or handling noise, so quieter surroundings and steady microphone placement still matter. A focused accessory for recording outside.
