Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.9 4x5.65
Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.9 4x5.65 | Three stops of light control
In bright conditions, or when you want a slower shutter speed without changing your chosen aperture, an ND filter earns its place in front of the lens. The Schneider CFG Rhodium FSND 0.9 is a neutral-density filter in the 4x5.65 format, made for reducing the light reaching the camera. Its 0.9 density corresponds to a three-stop reduction: for example, a meter reading of 1/125 second becomes 1/15 second at the same aperture and ISO. That gives you a clear, practical amount of exposure control for video or stills, without needing to close down the aperture to compensate for bright light. The 4x5.65 designation identifies the filter size, so it’s most relevant to shooters working with equipment designed for that format. If you need a specific reduction in incoming light in a large rectangular filter format, this Schneider is a focused option rather than a general-purpose filter size.
Specialist Note
The broad 4x5.65-inch format is the first practical detail to consider: it gives you a large filter area to work with in a setup built for that size. The 0.9 density takes away three stops, which is easy to plan around; for instance, at the same aperture and ISO, 1/125 second becomes 1/15 second. That makes this a useful fit for video work where you want to hold a chosen exposure setting in brighter light, or for a slower shutter when you want visible motion in a scene. I’d match it to a holder made for 4x5.65 filters. Its usefulness depends on that format, so it isn’t the filter to buy for an unrelated size.
