Shape RWTPH 1
Shape RWTPH 1 | Extra support for handheld video
During a handheld interview or a stretch of event coverage, a camera can feel harder to support as you keep filming. The Shape RWTPH 1 is a shoulder rig for that kind of video work: it gives you a way to support the camera while keeping the shot handheld. It suits videographers who want more support than they get from holding a camera on its own, but still need to move and frame their shots by hand. The key point is its intended role, rather than a collection of extra features: this is a rig for handheld video where the camera needs additional support. That makes it relevant for interview footage, event scenes and other situations where you’re staying with the camera instead of setting it down. If you’re choosing gear for a specific setup, think about whether shoulder-supported handheld shooting is the job you need it to do.
Specialist Note
The Shape RWTPH 1 gives handheld video a shoulder-based support point instead of leaving the camera supported by your arms alone. That’s the reason to consider a shoulder rig like this for longer interview takes or event coverage: you can keep the camera with you and frame as the scene changes, while using your shoulder as part of the support. It’s aimed at people who need extra support for handheld work, not at someone simply looking for a place to park a camera. For a stationary, unattended shot, a tripod is the more suitable tool. I’d look at the RWTPH 1 when staying mobile and keeping the camera shoulder-supported are central to the job.
