Sirui MP-20 Quick Release Photo Platform | Make tripod changes simpler

Moving between tripod-based framing and handheld work can interrupt your rhythm. The Sirui MP-20 Quick Release Photo Platform is a tripod accessory designed to make that changeover more straightforward. It’s for photographers who want a dedicated quick-release platform in their tripod setup, rather than treating the camera’s attachment as an afterthought. Its purpose is practical: spend less attention on the transition and more on setting up the shot you want. That can be handy when you’re composing a landscape on a tripod, then want to move freely to another viewpoint, or when a static setup gives way to handheld details. The MP-20 is a focused accessory, not something that changes the look of your images. Its value is in the workflow around taking the camera on and off tripod support. If that small transition is a regular part of your photography, this platform is made for that job.

Specialist Note

“Will the MP-20 make moving between tripod and handheld work easier?” Yes—that’s the point of a quick-release photo platform. I’d consider it if you often compose a scene on a tripod, then want to walk a short distance for a closer detail without letting the setup dictate your pace. It also makes sense for a photographer who regularly switches between a fixed tripod position and freer handheld framing. The key detail is that this is a tripod accessory: it supports that part of your workflow, rather than adding a camera feature. I’d pair it with a tripod setup where a quick changeover is genuinely useful to you.
