SmallHD 12-inch Micro to Mini HDMI Cable

SmallHD 12-inch Micro to Mini HDMI Cable | Connect two HDMI socket sizes

What sets this cable apart is its Micro HDMI to Mini HDMI connection in a 12-inch length. It’s for a setup where one piece of equipment has a Micro HDMI socket and the other has a Mini HDMI socket, and you need a cable between them. The short length is the detail to consider first: it suits a close-together connection, rather than a run across a room or around a larger rig. That can help keep a compact setup from gathering unnecessary cable slack. The name tells you the two connector formats, so you can match them to the sockets you’re connecting. It’s a simple, specific job, and that’s where this SmallHD cable makes sense. If your equipment uses those two HDMI socket sizes and sits within reach of a 12-inch cable, it gives you the connection this product is named for.

Matching the connection

HDMI connector names can be easy to mix up when you’re looking at a small port on a monitor, camera, or other piece of video equipment. Micro HDMI and Mini HDMI are distinct connector formats, so the important thing is to identify the socket at each end of the connection before choosing a cable. This model is named for a Micro HDMI end and a Mini HDMI end; it isn’t described as a cable with two matching plugs. Think about where the connected devices will sit, too. A 12-inch cable is a short link, so it’s most at home when the two sockets are close together. That’s the practical trade-off: less spare cable to manage, with less reach than a longer cable would provide.
