SmallRig 5160 Rotating Side Handle w/ Nato Clamp

SmallRig 5160 Rotating Side Handle w/ Nato Clamp | Extra support for handheld video

The rotating side handle is the defining design choice here: it gives you a way to position your grip for handheld video work, while the NATO clamp provides the named attachment method. SmallRig makes this as a shoulder-rig accessory for camera operators who want extra support while filming without putting the camera down between takes. It’s best suited to handheld work where a steadier, more controlled hold matters, such as following a subject or recording a short piece to camera. The handle is a focused addition to a rig, not a replacement for the rest of your setup. Its rotating design is useful when you want to adjust how the handle sits for your shooting position. If your work involves moving with the camera, this is the sort of practical support that can make a rig easier to manage during a take.

How it fits into your setup

Think of the 5160 as a grip point for handheld operation, rather than a complete support system. The NATO clamp is part of the product’s attachment design, so plan for it as a component of a shoulder rig. The handle’s rotation gives you some freedom in how you orient that grip; the useful position is the one that lets you hold the camera comfortably while keeping your framing under control. It’s a straightforward role, with no claim that the handle alone removes camera movement.
